Jensen Huang says kids shouldn't learn to code — they should leave it up to AI

“It is our job to create computing technology such that nobody has to program ... And that the programming language is human ... Everybody in the world is now a programmer. This is the miracle of artificial intelligence.”

Context
Onstage at the World Governments Summit, Huang said that for 10 to 15 years almost everyone on such a stage had insisted young people learn computer science, and that 'it's almost exactly the opposite': the aim is that nobody has to program. Headlines turned this into 'kids shouldn't learn to code'; he went on to say people should upskill and put time into domain expertise such as biology, farming and manufacturing. Nvidia's own recap of the event (dated 2024-02-12) words the line slightly differently ('computing technologies that nobody has to program ... that is the miracle'); the quote here follows the video as transcribed by Tom's Hardware.

Critical commentary
GIGAZINE (2024-02-27) reports analyst Patrick Moorhead and former Oculus CTO John Carmack publicly pushed back (AI won't end coding; problem solving is the core skill), and Vulcan Post ran an opinion piece arguing against the advice. A debate rather than an outrage.
